Commissioned by Ian Jeffress, Encased Indifference is inspired by climate change activism and how humanity often reacts to future crises. The three main sections of the composition trace an attempted awakening through growing alarms, realization of need for action, and regret for delay. The audio track is filled with sounds of ice first cracking then melting indicating a growing need for action, while the middle section is governed by a cyclical rhythmic pattern suggesting the inaction of apathy.
